Time dependent categories: To be eligible for these categories, a recording must have been released between April 30 2001 and April 30 2002.
1. Best Recording for Infants and Toddlers Any release which is appropriate for children aged 0 to 3. Recordings in this category will be auditioned by primarily English-speaking caregivers.
2. Best Recording for Young Children Any release which is appropriate for children aged 4 to 7.
3. Best Recording for Older Children Any release which is appropriate for children aged 7 to 12.
4. Best Educational Recording for Young Children Any release designed primarily for the educational market and which is appropriate for children aged 4 to 7
5. Best Educational Recording for Older Children Any release designed primarily for the educational market and which is appropriate for children aged 7 to 12.
6. Best New Artist for Young Children Any artist or group who performs for young children, age 7 and below, and whose first national release was between the time frame above.
7. Best New Artist for Older Children Any artist or group who performs for older children, aged 7 and above, and whose first national release was between the time frame above.
8. Best Song for Young Children Any single, original song ( in English) whose primary audience is children 7 or below, which was released in the time frame, or not yet released. Limit 3 applications per songwriter.
9. Best Song for Older Children Any single original song (in English) whose primary audience is children 7 to 12, which was released in the time frame or not yet released. Limit 3 applications per songwriter.
Non Time-Dependent Categories: no restriction on release date
10. Classic Recording for Babies and Toddlers Any release or re-release which is appropriate for children aged 0 to 3. This will be auditioned by primarily English-speaking caregivers.
11.Classic Recording for Young Children Any release or re-release,which is appropriate for children aged 4 to 7.
12. Classic Recording for Older Children Any release or re-release, which is appropriate for children aged 7 to 12.
