What's New Today

Celebrate the Fourth of July
with our special
on Jabberwocky

Plus

It is with a heavy heart that we tell of the passing of
Lisa Atkinson, our dear friend and Pickleberry.

Lisa's infectious smile and talented songwriting have entertained generations of children. Whether as "Tony", the youngest whimsical creature in the national radio series "Pickleberry Pie," or as a singer-songwriter for kids and adults, or as the co-ordinator of concerts for thousands of children in hospitals nationwide,
Lisa served kids with heart and humor.
As Tony would say, "uh, yep"

We miss her so.

You can hear a short compilation of Lisa's work on Jabberwocky or
on demand.

What kids and families are saying:
Thanks so much. What a treasure to find programming for children that is always available.
It is very much appreciated.

kpr is an entire network of web-based radio channels for kids. The channels are created through an aggregate of both old and new programming assembled from a variety of sources in public radio and elsewhere. Music, news, stories, comedy, lullabies, educational programming and more are  presented in distinct non-commercial programs which serve an audience of kids aged 0 to 11 and their parents. The common denominators for all of the programs are a commitment to quality, a love of many cultures, and a profound respect for the intelligence of children.

kpr is launching with two 24/7 channels, Lullaby and Jabberwocky. In addition, we have links to other web-based radio programming for kids including streams, podcasts, and archived programs. We plan on creating more streamed channels as we are able, including live, community-based programming.

kpr is made for and with children. Stations, parents, and teachers are encouraged to help kids create programming for use in our streamed channels and for local and national broadcast as appropriate. Kids can also participate as artists and writers.

kpris ad-free and commercial free. We are promoted by public radio stations across the United States. Financial support is provided by individual donations online.
